Facilities

The church building is used by many non-profit organizations within the community for meetings, presentations, and musical performances. We believe that offering affordable, safe meeting space is missional. Organizations meeting regularly include AA, Al-Anon, TOPS and the Bonner County Human Rights Task Force.

The building has a large kitchen and volunteers host a community midday meal every Wednesday in Fellowship Hall to all who drop in for it.

Inquiries and applications can be made through the church office and requests are sent to the Session (church council) for approval.

  • First Presbyterian Church of Sandpoint
First Presbyterian Church is the oldest church building in Sandpoint still serving the community as a place of worship.

Sanctuary

Not just for baptisms, weddings, and funerals, the stunning, historic sanctuary can seat up to 140 people and is available for events that do not conflict with the purpose of the church. Musical groups enjoy performing in the sanctuary with the “bright” grand piano and outstanding acoustics.

A ramp is available for ADA access from the Alder Street door. Cordless microphones and a big screen TV are available upon request.

Fellowship Hall and Meeting Rooms

Fellowship Hall can be arranged with 11 six-foot tables with maximum seating for 72. The portable big screen TV can be used with portable speakers upon request.

The cozy Fireside Meeting Room seats 10 around a large conference table with a few more chairs to fit in when needed.

The Retreat Room across from the church office can comfortably accommodate 6–8 chairs around a round table.

Kitchen

The kitchen is equipped with two deep ovens, farm-style deep sinks, a dish-ware sanitizer, plates, utensils, cold drink cups, and mugs.

Community Peace Garden

The church yard has been transformed into a welcoming space for community gatherings and personal reflection. There is a lovely gazebo donated by Sandpoint Rotary Club, mature shade trees, benches, a Little Free Library, three picnic tables, flower beds, and a Peace Pole with the prayer May Peace Prevail on Earth in 12 languages.

Typical gatherings include outdoor dinners, worship services, community yard sales, and musical performances. The natural setting provides a space to experience peaceful renewal in the heart of downtown Sandpoint.
