Sunday Services

You will be greeted by friendly people who are glad you are here to share in worship, and who hope you will return to become part of this Christian community. Worship takes place every week at 11:00 am, where you will experience a Presbyterian worship style, in which the Word of God is read and proclaimed.

Why worship here? We are an open, affirming, and inclusive fellowship. Hospitality is rooted in the love of God and one another reaching out to all creation.

In response to God’s grace, we celebrate communion the first Sunday of every month. All who come to the table are offered the bread and cup, regardless of their age or understanding. Even those who doubt may come to the table in order to be assured of God’s love and grace in Jesus Christ. (Ref. Book of Order W-3.0409)

God’s Spirit is active in many ways, and people who come to worship discover grace and love. God’s call on their lives is confirmed. People are inspired to grow and deepen their faith. Worshipers are sent out to love and serve the Lord in the world.

Music

Our chancel choir sings alternating Sundays September through May and for special services around Christmas, Lent, and the Easter season. The choir rehearses weekly for an hour and for 30 minutes prior to services in which they are singing.  All singers are welcome as we sing a variety of music arranged for SAB or SATB (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass).

Special music is offered with solos by our choir director, Dana Stockman, and occasional musical guests from around the community, including the bell choir from the Sandpoint Music Conservatory.

Pianist Annie Welle accompanies the choir, and provides introits, offertories, and accompaniment for congregational singing. Her creative and bright piano playing is a special highlight of worship here.

Interested in special music for a church or outside event? Please contact the church office to check on availability and honoraria rates for Dana Stockman or Annie Welle.

Other Services

All are welcome to join us in these traditional observances. Check the calendar for dates and times.

  • The “Noisy Offering” of loose change is received on the first Sunday of each month. Moneys from the Noisy Offering go to support the local mission ministries.
  • An Ash Wednesday soup supper with homemade soups and bread is followed by a service in the sanctuary marking the beginning of Lent with the blessing of ashes.
  • A Maundy Thursday soup supper is followed by a Tenebrae Service in the sanctuary. This is a very moving evening service leading up to Easter Sunday.
  • On Easter Sunday the morning worship service is a joyful time for celebrating the beginning of the Easter season celebrating the risen Christ Jesus.
  • The Christmas Eve service on December 24 is an evening candlelight service with carols and scripture passages celebrating the birth of Jesus by passing the Light of Christ.
