Women Report for December, 2007: Our November P.W. Gathering, about the National Anthem, featured Pauline Ryberg and Dana Stockman; we appreciated their talent. Three men found the program of special interest, also! We are an equal opportunity group. Now is the time to plan for our festive holiday gathering, on December 11, at noon. We will have a salad potluck luncheon, followed by an opportunity to make some real fashion statements! Please (everyone) come wearing an outfit or clothing item which you purchased at our rummage sale, or a thrift store. Joyce Boeck is coordinating this activity. Prizes are offered in these categories: PRETTIEST, SILLIEST, MOST ORIGINAL and BEST BARGAIN. We will also enjoy our traditional Christmas carol singing, led by Pauline Ryberg, and Evelyn Mcintyre. On December 2nd we will have our Christmas sale to benefit local missions. Please help us by bringing in items you no longer use in your home decorations. Also, don't for get to support Heifer Project this year. This alternative Christmas gift will be available on Sundays in December. Presbyterian Women Presbyterian Women (PW) is a church wide organization whose membership is open to all women. The members are women who choose to participate in or be supportive of the organization in anyway. PW intentionally seeks the membership of women from all racial-ethnic groups so that the organization may reflect a vision of the whole church as a community of mutual interdependence in which diversity contributes to wholeness. PW gives strong support to the mission of the Presbyterian Church U.S.A. and determines its own leadership, program and budget. As part of our local mission work, PW of the First Presbyterian Church, Sandpoint, contributes to the following worthwhile organizations: Bonner County Food Bank, Homeless Task Force, Avista Project Share, Bonner Gospel Mission and many others. Funds for these contributions are raised by our annual rummage sale, held in the spring. This sale has become well known in our community and; therefore, very well attended by area residence. Our meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month. If you wish to bring your lunch, come at 12:00; coffee and tea are provided. At 12:30 a diversified schedule of programs are provided. At 1:00 we have our business meeting and at 1:30 is bible study that is moderated by Pastor Nancy Copeland-Payton. This years study is “For Everything, A Season”. A study of the Liturgical Calendar. Our meetings are set up in such a way that members may attend all or any part without disruption. Our times are strictly adhered to avoid a lengthily day. Please come and join us, you need not be a member of the church. We welcome you in the Spirit of Jesus Christ. Sylvia Humes
